Display Options

Updated today

The available display types change depending on whether SugarPixel is running in single-user or two-user mode.

  • Single-user default: BG Arrow Delta

  • Two-user default: 2 User BG

Want to display the unicorn you’ve seen in photos? That option is available in the Emoji display types.


Display Type

Selecting a display shows a preview image of how SugarPixel will look.

  • Tap a thumbnail to select it

  • The display updates immediately

  • Use the preview to compare layouts before choosing

Some display types also support Invert Display Colors, which reverses light and dark areas for improved visibility. Below, each display type is listed with its supported features. Expand only the display you’re interested in to see details.

Single User Displays

BG Arrow Delta

  • Blood Glucose value is color coded. See Color Reference Chart

  • Trend Arrow for mg/dL uses the standard CGM direction arrows. Trend Arrow for mmol/L uses the small CGM direction arrows. See Trend Arrow Chart

  • Delta is the change + or - from the prior reading. Firmware version 1.66 and newer use a color coded Delta display based on the time between each reading. See Delta Display for more details.

  • The bottom bars represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the BG and Time display.

  • The inverted color option works as shown below

Big BG

  • Blood Glucose value is color coded. See Color Reference Chart

  • Trend Arrow uses the big CGM arrows. See Trend Arrow Chart

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the BG and Time display.

  • The inverted color option works as shown below.

BG and Time

  • Blood Glucose is color coded. See Color Reference Chart

  • Trend Arrow uses the small CGM direction arrows. See Trend Arrow Chart

  • Time is dependent on your timezone setting in the configuration.

  • The bottom bars represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the BG Arrow Delta display.

  • The inverted color option works as shown below.

Color Time

  • The current time is color coded from the BG value. See Color Reference Chart

  • The time is based on your time zone selection in configuration.

  • The bottom bars represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the BG Arrow Delta display.

  • The inverted color option works on this display as shown.

Color

  • The entire display is color-coded for a quick glance. See Color Reference Chart

  • The bottom bars represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the BG and Time display.

  • The inverted color option has no effect on this display.

Emoji Smiley BG

  • Emojis change based on blood glucose value. See Emoji Smileys Reference

  • Blood Glucose value is color coded. See Color Reference Chart

  • Trend Arrow uses the standard CGM arrows for mg/dL and small arrows for mmol/L. See Trend Arrow Chart

  • The bottom bars under the blood glucose represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

Emoji Smiley Slang

  • The blood glucose range is transposed to color coded slang. See Color Reference Chart and Slang Reference

  • You can long-press the snooze button to temporarily toggle the display to show your current reading.

  • The bottom bars under the blood glucose represent how many minutes ago the reading is. 1 bar corresponds to 1 minute ago. 5 bars corresponds to 5 or more minutes ago.

  • The inverted color option only inverts the right side of the screen.

  • When this display is selected, there is an additional option in the mobile app display settings to choose your unicorn value.

Two User Displays

2 Users BG

  • SugarPixel allows you to display blood glucose readings from 2 people at once. User 1 is the left reading and user 2 is the right reading.

  • Blood Glucose values are color coded. See Color Reference Chart

  • Trend Arrow uses the small CGM direction arrows. See Trend Arrow Chart

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the time.

  • The inverted color option works on this display as shown below.

2 Users Color

  • SugarPixel allows you to display blood glucose readings from 2 people a once. User 1 is the left reading and user 2 is the right reading.

  • The entire display is color coded for a quick glance. See Color Reference Chart

  • Long pressing the snooze button temporarily shows the 2 User BG display.

  • The inverted color option has no effect on this display.

2 Users Emoji Smiley

2 Users Emoji Icon

Color Ranges

Most displays change color based on your current blood glucose.

  • Adjust the Color Range sliders to control when each color appears

  • Green (In Range) is used between your Low and High values

  • Emoji displays include a Unicorn slider to control when the unicorn icon appears


Blink Minute Ticker

Animates the minute ticker to indicate seconds within the current minute.


Day and Night Brightness

Automatically switches brightness between daytime and nighttime levels based on the times you set.


Night Display Mode

Reduces brightness overnight by displaying only 1–5 pixels.

  • Colors follow your Color Range settings

  • Automatically activates during your configured night hours

  • Alerts temporarily switch to your primary display

  • Long-press the snooze button to temporarily show your primary display
