Testing Alerts

Updated today

Use the test alert function weekly to confirm proper functioning of your external devices.

After you have selected and plugged in your external devices, you must run an alert test to confirm proper functioning.

  1. Open the SugarPixel app and connect to your SugarPixel.

  2. Ensure that the Vibration/Sidekick Alert or Ascending Alerts is enabled under Alert Settings. Sidekick alerts will only trigger if vibration alerts are enabled.

  3. Tap the Test Alert button in the app Alerts Settings screen.

  4. When the alert triggers, confirm your external devices activate as expected.

Troubleshooting

Sidekick Red Light Turns On

If Sidekick detects your device requires too much power, a red light near the power port turns on and the external port is disabled until it is resolved with the below steps.

  1. Unplug power from Sidekick.

  2. Unplug the external device that required too much power.

  3. Plug in a new device to test.

  4. Plug in power to Sidekick.

  5. Run the alert test again.

Device does not turn on (Red Light is off)

If your device does not activate and there is no red light, confirm the device turns on when plugged into power.

  1. Plug your device directly into its own USB wall plug to power.

  2. If it does not turn on:

    1. Toggle the power switch of the device

    2. Unplug the device

    3. Plug it in again to confirm it turns on.

  3. If it still does not turn on, this device is not usable with Sidekick because it cannot be automatically turned on when plugged in.
