# Does SugarPixel work when we're away from home?

Yes. SugarPixel downloads readings over WiFi from your CGM's cloud service, just like a follower app. The person wearing the CGM can be anywhere, as long as their CGM phone app has an internet connection.

The phone you used to set up SugarPixel doesn't need to stay nearby. Readings usually show up a few minutes after they appear in your CGM app.
