# Alerting When Not Expected

> SugarPixel+ alerted when you didn't expect it to

<Info>
  **Start here:** make sure your SugarPixel+ has the latest software installed. Install any update you've been notified about, and check your version under **≡ → General Settings → System**.
</Info>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check the No Data alert">
    The **No Data** alert fires when no new reading arrives within the time you set, even if glucose is in range. CGM readings sometimes arrive a few minutes late, so a short No Data time can alert when only a few readings are missed or delayed.

    Go to **≡ → Users → \[User Name] → User Alerts** and check the **No Data** time. 30 minutes works well for most people.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Snooze it, then check which alert it was">
    Next time it alerts, snooze it and open **≡ → Snoozer**. The new snooze shows which alert fired — **Low**, **High** or **No Data** — and for which user.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check alert settings">
    Go to **≡ → Users → \[User Name] → User Alerts** and confirm the **Low** and **High** thresholds are what you intended. Each user has their own alert settings.

    **System Alerts** under **≡ → Global Alert Settings → System Alerts** (Power Loss and Captive Portal) can also fire on their own.
  </Step>
</Steps>
