đ Congratulations on your new SugarPixel+!
This guide will help you get everything out of the box and ready to go.
What's in the Box
Check that you have everything before getting started
Your SugarPixel+ box should contain:
- SugarPixel+ tablet
- MagSafe compatible stand
- USB cable
- USB power brick
If you also ordered a Bed Shaker, it arrives in a separate box containing:
- Alert adapter
- Bed shaker
- Power cable
- USB power brick
Missing something? Email support@customtypeone.com before continuing.
Use the supplied cable and USB power brick only. If your country's outlet doesn't match, use a wall outlet plug adapter â not a third-party charger.
Important: Incorrect setup can prevent alarms, damage the device, create a fire risk, and void the warranty.
About SugarPixel+ Hardware
Display, buttons, speakers, nightlight, stand, and charging
The Display
SugarPixel+ features an 8.68" touchscreen display in landscape orientation. The full screen is used to show glucose data, themes, and animations, with a status dock along the bottom edge.
Red Snooze Button (top of device)
Press once to snooze all active alerts. When no alerts are active, pressing it adjusts screen brightness. You can also snooze alerts using the on-screen snooze notification that appears when an alert is firing.
Small Black Button (top of device, next to snooze)
Long press to open the power menu, where you can reboot or shut down the device.
Shutting down: SugarPixel+ will not restart until the button is pressed again. Alerts will not fire while the device is off.
Speakers
SugarPixel+ has dual speakers for loud, audible alerts from anywhere in the room.
Nightlight
A physical light on the back of the device that you can choose to activate when an alert fires. It's designed to illuminate a dark room so you can see what you're doing when treating a low or high glucose after an alert.
Stand & Mounting
SugarPixel+ and the stand are MagSafe-compatible, making it easy to mount to magnetic surfaces and accessories. The articulating stand lets you tilt and position the screen for comfortable viewing from anywhere in the room. If the stand arms feel loose over time, they can be tightened using a standard allen wrench.
Charging
SugarPixel+ has a built-in battery and charges via the USB-C port. For normal use, keep it plugged in so it's always ready. The battery icon in the bottom dock shows current charge status.
Getting Started
SugarPixel+ walks you through setup the first time you power it on
SugarPixel+ walks you through initial setup the first time you power it on. The wizard runs directly on the device â no app or phone required.
The wizard covers five sections:
- WiFi â connect to your network so SugarPixel+ can reach your CGM data
- Users, CGM & Alerts â add one to four users, connect each to their CGM, and set per-user alert thresholds
- Global Alerts & Quiet Hours â configure how alerts sound, look, and when they're silenced
- Display & Themes â set screen brightness and choose a display theme for each user
- System & Accessibility â review device settings and finish setup
Tap Finish to complete setup. Explore the menu to review any settings, or tap X to close it.
Every setting in the wizard is also available later. Tap the menu icon (âĄ) in the bottom-right corner of the screen at any time to return to any setting.
Returning after a reset? You'll need to re-enter your WiFi, CGM, and alert settings from the beginning. The wizard will launch automatically.
