Almost done — let’s set your brightness and choose a display theme.

Use the slider to set your default brightness to a comfortable level for your environment.Night Brightness — Set a separate brightness level that activates automatically between the start and end hours you choose. Set it lower than your daytime brightness for comfortable nighttime viewing.Simplified Night Theme — Changes the display to just color-coded glucose on a dark background during night hours.Red Color Filter — Restricts the display to red tones during night hours. Red light has less impact on sleep than white or blue light.Outline BG Text — Changes text to only be outlined.Turn Off Screen — The screen turns off completely during night hours. Tap it once to wake for 30 seconds. The screen auto-wakes when an alert fires and returns to off after the alert is snoozed.
Each user can choose their own display type, theme and display settings independently.

Display Type

  • Theme — a PixelPal or SugarScape that reacts to glucose levels (see Themes below)
  • Photo Frame Version 2.13+ — your own photos rotate behind the glucose reading. See Photo Frame below.
Theme and Photo Frame each remember their own display options, so you can switch between them without setting everything up again.

Display Options

Version 2.13+ needed for Small BG, Minute Ticker and Standard/Subtle text.
  • Main Display — choose how the glucose value appears: Large BG (standard number), Small BG (reading shown in the dock, single user only), Slang (theme-specific phrases, SugarScapes only), or Hidden (tap to reveal temporarily).
  • Show Graph — show the glucose history graph Small, Large, or Off.
    • The graph shows the last 3 hours in both the small and large sizes.
    • Tap the small graph in the dock to open an expanded graph with buttons for 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours. It also shows your time in range and average BG for the selected time.
  • Minute Ticker — Small shows the time since the last reading in the dock. Large shows a wider ticker under the reading. Large is only available with Large BG.
  • Clock — Small or Large clock on single-user displays
  • Text Display — Dark or Light text, and Standard or Subtle (more see-through) text.
  • Background Mode — Dark, Normal or Light background
  • Show Emojis — available on select SugarScapes; adds a glucose-reactive emoji to the display
  • Show Pump Data — toggle IOB/COB display on or off (shown when pump data is detected from Twiist, Nightscout, or Gluroo)
  • Celebration — celebrate when glucose hits that perfectly-in-range number:
    • Unicorn display — show the special unicorn celebration display and set the glucose value that triggers it
    • Celebration music — SugarPixel+ plays a dedicated T1D celebration song from Fourteen Novembers up to once per day during your selected hours
  • Color Ranges — set the thresholds at which your SugarPixel+ display changes color:
    • Urgent Low
    • Low
    • In Range
    • High
    • Urgent High
    • Old Readings

Choose Photo Frame

Go to ≡ → Display → User Themes and tap Photo Frame under Display Type. The first time, the upload window opens automatically. To add more later, tap the camera icon in the dock.

Scan the QR code in the app

In the SugarPixel Hub app, tap your SugarPixel+ on the home screen, then Scan QR code. (Not added yet? Tap Add SugarPixel → SugarPixel+ → Scan QR code.) Enter the PIN shown on SugarPixel+.

Pick and upload your photos

Use the crop button on each preview to adjust it, then upload. Leave the window open on SugarPixel+ until all photos have downloaded.
  • SugarPixel+ holds up to 1,000 photos. Your photos are listed under Photo Frame Photos on the same screen, where you can delete them.
  • BG-Color Coded Frame — colors the edge of the screen by glucose range.

Multi-User Settings Version 2.13+

When following 2–4 users, Multi-User Settings on the same screen sets the shared layout: Screen Layout (2 users: Horizontal or Vertical), Show Names/Photos, Name/Photo Size, Text Display, and Background Mode. In Photo Frame, it also sets the BG-Color Coded Frame.To change one user’s theme or options, tap their name under Select User.

PixelPals

Character images and animations that react to glucose levels and alert states. Characters and backgrounds change based on whether glucose is in range, low, or high.
