1Users
Add, edit, and manage users — go to ≡ → Users
SugarPixel+ can follow one to four CGM users simultaneously. Each user has their own name, profile photo, CGM connection, alert settings, display theme, and independent snooze state.
To manage users, go to ≡ → Users.
Adding a User
Name, photo, and CGM connection
- Tap Add User
- Enter a name — this appears on the display. Can be a first name, full name, initials, or nickname.
- Optionally, tap the camera button to add a profile photo — helpful when following multiple users.
- Tap Save User
- Tap CGM/Pump to connect their CGM data source. See the CGM & Pumps section below for setup instructions.
The display layout adjusts automatically as you add users, fitting everyone on screen at once.
Editing or Removing a User
Update name or photo, or delete a user entirely
To edit a user:
- Go to ≡ → Users → [User Name] → Edit
- Update the name or photo as needed
- Tap Save
To remove a user:
- Go to ≡ → Users → [User Name] → Edit

- Confirm when prompted
Deleting a user removes their CGM connection, alerts, and display settings. This cannot be undone.
2CGM & Pumps
Connect each user's CGM data source — go to ≡ → Users → [User Name] → CGM/Pump
Select the CGM source for this user and follow the steps for your system.
After entering credentials and tapping Test Connection, your current glucose reading appears on screen if successful. If it fails, expand the Troubleshooting steps at the bottom of your CGM instructions below.
To start over, tap Delete Connections before re-entering your details.
Dexcom
Connect using your Dexcom username and Clarity account
Japan and Singapore users: Follow the Gluroo instructions instead to link SugarPixel+ to your Dexcom account.
1Select your server
If your Dexcom account was created in the USA, leave USA Server enabled. If your account was created outside the USA, turn it off.
2Find your Dexcom username
Open the Dexcom app and go to Settings → Account (G6) or Profile → Account (G7). Use the username shown under LOGIN — this is what you enter in SugarPixel+. If your username is a phone number, the + and country code are required — for example, +13334445555.
3Enable Sharing
Dexcom only uploads real-time data when Sharing is enabled and at least one follower exists. Add a follower in the Dexcom app before continuing. If you don't want others following you, invite yourself and install the Follow app with alerts disabled.
4Enter your login in SugarPixel+
Enter your Dexcom username and password and tap Test Connection. Your current glucose reading appears immediately if successful.
⚠️ Troubleshooting
CGM Login Error · No Data or Hourglass Icon · Screenshots for Support
CGM Login Error
SugarPixel+ cannot log in to your Dexcom account
A login error means the username or password entered in SugarPixel+ doesn't match what Dexcom has on file. The most common causes:
Phone number username
The + and country code are required — no spaces, dashes, or parentheses. Enter exactly as shown in the Dexcom app. Example: +13334445555
Dependent account
If the Dexcom app shows a dependent account username, you must use that username — not the caregiver login. The dependent account also has its own password (set when the account was created), not the caregiver's password.
Verify your login first
Before re-entering details in SugarPixel+, confirm your login works on the Dexcom website:
- USA: clarity.dexcom.com
- Outside USA: clarity.dexcom.eu
If you can't log in there, SugarPixel+ won't be able to connect. Reset your password on the Dexcom site if needed — for dependent accounts, enter the dependent username and the reset email goes to the caregiver's address.
Once you've confirmed your login works on the website, tap Delete Connections in SugarPixel+ and re-enter your details.
No Data or Hourglass Icon
SugarPixel+ connected to Dexcom but no readings are downloading
This means SugarPixel+ reached Dexcom successfully but there are no readings available to download. Almost always caused by a missed setup step.
- Wrong username — especially using a caregiver/parent login instead of the dependent's username shown in the Dexcom app.
- Sharing not active — Sharing must be enabled with at least one follower in the Dexcom app.
- Dexcom Follow app has no readings — if your Follow app isn't showing current readings, SugarPixel+ won't either. Resolve the upstream issue first; SugarPixel+ will update within 15 minutes once readings appear.
- Recently changed phones, reinstalled the app, or switched CGM apps — you may have logged in with a different account or skipped re-enabling Sharing and followers. Redo steps 2–3 carefully.
You can verify you're using the correct login by checking the Daily Report on Clarity (clarity.dexcom.eu outside USA) — current readings will appear there if the login is correct.
Tap Delete Connections in SugarPixel+, re-do steps 2–3 carefully, then try again.

Libre LinkUp
Connect using a LibreLinkUp follower account
Omnipod 5 users: If you use Omnipod 5 with a Libre CGM in a supported country, link your Omnipod account to LibreView via your country's Omnipod website, then follow the steps below.
1Set up LibreLinkUp following
In the Libre app, go to Connected Apps → LibreLinkUp and add at least one follower. If you don't want others following you, invite yourself using a different email address.
2Confirm readings in the LibreLinkUp app
Install the LibreLinkUp app, log in with your follower account, and confirm glucose readings are visible.
3Enter your LibreLinkUp login in SugarPixel+
Use your LibreLinkUp email and password — not your main Libre account. Tap Test Connection. Your current reading appears on screen if successful.
⚠️ Troubleshooting
No Data or Hourglass Icon · Accept Libre Terms · Screenshots for Support
No Data or Hourglass Icon
SugarPixel+ connected but no Libre readings are downloading
- Entered your main Libre login instead of LibreLinkUp — these are separate accounts. SugarPixel+ uses the email address of the LibreLinkUp follower account, not the main Libre app login.
- Same email on both accounts — if your Libre and LibreLinkUp accounts share an email, create a new LibreLinkUp follower account with a different address. Gmail users can use the + alias trick — e.g. myemail+sugarpixel@gmail.com delivers to the same inbox.
- Special characters in the password — avoid + , ' " in your LibreLinkUp password.
- Third-party apps connected to LibreLinkUp — other apps connected to the same account can cause lockouts. Creating a dedicated LibreLinkUp account just for SugarPixel+ often resolves this.
- LibreLinkUp app has no readings — if your LibreLinkUp follower app isn't showing current readings, SugarPixel+ won't either. Resolve the upstream issue first; SugarPixel+ will update within 15 minutes once readings appear.
- Recently changed phones, reinstalled the app, or switched CGM apps — you may have logged in with a different account or forgotten to re-add a follower connection. Redo steps 1–2 carefully.
- SugarPixel+ not on latest firmware — confirm you're running the latest software update.
Tap Delete Connections in SugarPixel+, re-do steps 1–2 carefully, then try again.
SugarPixel+ Displays "Accept Libre Terms"
SugarPixel+ is prompting you to accept LibreLinkUp license terms
Log out of the LibreLinkUp app, log back in, and accept any license or terms prompt that appears. This must be completed before SugarPixel+ can connect.

Gluroo
Connect using your Gluroo Global Connect URL and token
Gluroo provides a free, Nightscout-compatible URL that SugarPixel+ uses to download glucose data. The Gluroo app is available on iOS and Android.
1Confirm glucose data is in Gluroo
Open the Gluroo app and confirm readings are visible. If not, open the Devices tab and add your CGM as a data source.
2Copy Gluroo Global Connect details
In the Gluroo app, open the menu and go to Devices → Other tab → Copy under Gluroo Global Connect. This gives you a Nightscout-compatible URL and an API Secret Token. Paste both into the corresponding fields in SugarPixel+, then tap Test Connection.
If Gluroo is receiving pump data from your insulin pump, SugarPixel+ can display IOB and COB on the main screen. Toggle this on or off under ≡ → Display → [User Name].
Nightscout
Connect directly to your Nightscout site URL
SugarPixel+ can connect directly to a Nightscout site to download glucose data.
1Confirm your site is working
Open your Nightscout site in a web browser, confirm readings are visible, and copy your Nightscout URL.
2Check whether your site requires a token
Open your Nightscout site in a private/incognito browser. If you're prompted for an API Secret, your site is restricted and you'll need a read-only token.
3Create a read-only token (if required)
Open your Nightscout site and go to Admin Tools. Confirm a role named readable exists with permission *:*:read — create it if it doesn't. Add a new Subject: Name = SugarPixel, Roles = readable. Copy the generated access token.
4Enter details in SugarPixel+
Paste your URL (and token if required), then tap Test Connection.
If Nightscout is receiving pump data, SugarPixel+ can display IOB and COB on the main screen. Toggle this under ≡ → Display → [User Name].
Twiist
Connect using your Insiight username and password
1Enter your Insiight login
Enter your Insiight username and password, then tap Test Connection.
Twiist provides both CGM and pump data. SugarPixel+ can display IOB and COB on the main screen when pump data is detected. Toggle this under ≡ → Display → [User Name].
During sensor warmup, sensor errors, or signal loss from the CGM, Twiist may provide no readings to SugarPixel+. If you're setting up during one of these times, SugarPixel+ will begin displaying readings automatically once they appear in the Insiight app.
Unofficial CGM Connections — SugarPixel+ does not officially support the CGMs below, but community members have successfully connected them using third-party apps. Test your setup before purchasing.
Dexcom Stelo
Unofficial — requires a third-party bridge app to Nightscout or Gluroo
SugarPixel+ does not officially support Dexcom Stelo. However, some users have successfully used the workaround below.
Important
- These steps should be tested before ordering SugarPixel+
- Setup relies on third-party and DIY apps
- We may not be able to provide full support for issues related to this configuration
SugarPixel+ cannot connect to Stelo directly because Stelo has no real-time sharing capability. You must use an app that can read Stelo and upload data to one of the following:
- Nightscout
- Gluroo
ARead Stelo Using a Compatible App
iPhone
You must use Stelo + a third-party reader app.
Required Apps:
- Stelo (App Store)
- Zukka (App Store) or xDrip4iOS (DIY)
Basic flow:
- Start the sensor in the Stelo app
- Open Zukka / xDrip4iOS
- Go to Bluetooth → select CGM → choose Stelo
- Scan for the sensor and pair
- Readings should appear 15–20 minutes after warmup
- Both apps must continue running in the background
Android
You must use xDrip+ (DIY). The Stelo app alone is not supported.
Basic flow:
- Install xDrip+ from: https://jamorham.github.io/#xdrip-plus
- Allow all permissions and unrestricted battery usage
- Use Auto Configure to scan the QR code from: https://navid200.github.io/xDrip/docs/Dexcom/G7.html
- Insert the Stelo sensor and select Dexcom G6/G7/1/1+ hardware option
- Enter the 4-digit transmitter ID
- Open System Status and wait for pairing and warmup
BUpload Data for SugarPixel+
Once readings appear in your app, upload them so SugarPixel+ can download the data.
- If you already use Nightscout, upload directly and select Nightscout in SugarPixel+
- If not, install Gluroo (free) and use Gluroo Global Connect as a Nightscout-compatible endpoint
- In xDrip+ / xDrip4iOS / Zukka, configure Nightscout upload using:
https://YourToken@YourUrl/api/v1 - Enter the same URL and token in SugarPixel+
CamAPS
Unofficial — requires xDrip+ on Android to upload via Nightscout or Gluroo
SugarPixel+ does not officially support CamAPS. However, some users have successfully connected SugarPixel+ by using xDrip+ to read CGM values and upload them for SugarPixel+ to download.
Important
- These steps are Android only
- This is a community-provided workaround
- Setup should be tested before ordering SugarPixel+
- We may not be able to provide full support for issues related to this configuration
These steps are commonly used with Dexcom, and users have reported that they also work with Libre sensors when paired with CamAPS.
How This Works
- CamAPS manages the CGM sensor
- xDrip+ runs on the same phone and reads CGM data
- xDrip+ uploads glucose values to Nightscout or Gluroo (recommended), or Dexcom Share (Dexcom sensors only)
- SugarPixel+ downloads data from that upload source
AInstall and Configure xDrip+
Install xDrip+ on the same Android phone running CamAPS.
- xDrip+ is an open-source app and is not available in the Play Store
- Installation requires allowing apps from unknown sources
- Follow the community instructions for using CamAPS with xDrip+
Once configured, confirm that xDrip+ is displaying glucose readings before continuing.
BConfigure Your Upload Method
Once xDrip+ is receiving readings, configure it to upload data so SugarPixel+ can download it.
Nightscout or Gluroo (works with Dexcom and Libre sensors)
- If you already have a Nightscout site, configure xDrip+ to upload to it using Cloud Upload → Nightscout Sync → Base URL:
https://YourToken@YourUrl/api/v1 - If you do not have Nightscout, install the Gluroo app (free), skip CGM sync during setup, then go to Devices → Other and copy the Gluroo Global Connect URL and API Secret
- Enter the upload address into xDrip+ using the same format:
https://YourToken@YourUrl/api/v1
After configuring the upload in xDrip+, enter the corresponding URL and API Secret / Token into SugarPixel+.
Medtronic
Unofficial — upload CareLink data via xDrip+ or Guardian Monitor
SugarPixel+ does not officially support Medtronic CGMs. However, users have successfully connected SugarPixel+ by syncing Medtronic data through CareLink and uploading it to Nightscout or Gluroo.
This approach has been reported to work with Guardian, Simplera, and Instinct sensors, as long as data is available through Medtronic CareLink.
Important
- This is a community-provided workaround
- Setup should be tested before ordering SugarPixel+
- We may not be able to provide full support for issues related to this configuration
Justin from Diabetech created a step-by-step video showing how to sync Medtronic CGM data to Nightscout or Gluroo, which SugarPixel+ can then use. Subscribe to his channel for more diabetes tips and tricks.
AInstall an App to Read CGM Data
Android (xDrip+)
- Install xDrip+ from: https://jamorham.github.io/#xdrip-plus
- xDrip+ is not in the Play Store and requires allowing apps from unknown sources
- Install xDrip+ on the same phone as the Medtronic app
- Configure xDrip+ using Companion Mode following the xDrip documentation
iPhone (Guardian Monitor)
- Install Guardian Monitor from the App Store
- Follow the app's setup instructions
- A subscription is required to upload glucose data
- Guardian Monitor can upload readings to Nightscout
BSet Up Nightscout or Gluroo
SugarPixel+ cannot connect directly to Medtronic or CareLink. Data must be uploaded first.
- If you already use Nightscout, configure xDrip+ or Guardian Monitor to upload to your Nightscout site
- If you do not have Nightscout, install the Gluroo app (free), skip CGM sync during setup, then go to Devices → Other and use the Gluroo Global Connect details for uploads
CConfigure SugarPixel+
In SugarPixel+'s CGM setup, select Nightscout or Gluroo and enter the same URL and API Secret / Token used for uploads. Only complete this step after you confirm real-time readings are visible in your Nightscout site or the Gluroo app.
Eversense
Unofficial — requires an Eversense uploader app and Nightscout or Gluroo
SugarPixel+ does not officially support Eversense sensors. However, some users have successfully connected SugarPixel+ by uploading Eversense data to Nightscout or Gluroo.
Important
- These steps are Android only
- This is a community-provided workaround
- Setup should be tested before ordering SugarPixel+
- We may not be able to provide full support for issues related to this configuration
AInstall an Eversense Uploader App
You must install an app that can read Eversense data and upload it to Nightscout. Nightscout maintains a list of supported uploaders:
https://nightscout.github.io/uploader/uploaders/#eversense
Before continuing, confirm the uploader app is actively receiving glucose readings.
BSet Up Nightscout or Gluroo
Option A: Nightscout — If you already have a Nightscout site, configure the uploader app to upload to it using the format: https://YourToken@YourUrl/api/v1. Then select Nightscout in SugarPixel+ and enter the same URL and Token.
Option B: Gluroo (Free) — Install the Gluroo app, skip syncing to a CGM during setup, then go to Devices → Other and copy the Gluroo Global Connect URL and API Secret. Use this as the upload destination in your Eversense uploader app, then enter the same URL and Token into SugarPixel+.
CConfigure SugarPixel+
In SugarPixel+'s CGM setup, select Nightscout or Gluroo and enter the same URL and API Secret / Token used for uploads. Only complete this step after you confirm real-time glucose readings are visible in Nightscout or the Gluroo app.
3User Alerts
Per-user Low, High, and No Data alert settings — go to ≡ → Users → [User Name] → Alerts
Set the glucose thresholds that will trigger alerts for this user.
| Alert | What it does |
|---|---|
| Low | Alerts when glucose is at or below your threshold and the reading is within the last 15 minutes |
| High | Alerts when glucose is at or above your threshold and the reading is within the last 15 minutes |
| No Data | Alerts after a set number of minutes without a new reading |
For each alert type:
- Use the toggle to enable or disable that alert type
- Tap the threshold number to adjust it — use + / − or drag the slider
- Set the snooze duration — how long to wait before re-alerting if the condition continues
These thresholds apply to this user only. Each additional user has their own independent alert settings.
Adding More Users — Tap the on-screen Add User button and repeat Steps 1–3 for each additional user.
