Alert Types set how SugarPixel Mini/Classic gets your attention when an alert goes off. Open your SugarPixel’s settings and tap Alert Types (or use the Alert types step of the setup wizard, shown when at least one alert is on). Every way of alerting is optional. Audio, vibration (Classic vibration puck / Sidekick, Mini Wireless Alert Adapter / bed shaker) and visual alerts can each be turned on or off — for example, vibration only with sound off. At the bottom of Alert Types, tap Test alert to play a short test alert using your settings. Tests respect Quiet Hours and active snoozes — if nothing happens, check your time zone, Quiet Hours and active snoozes (Snoozer).
Test your alerts weekly to confirm audio and vibration hardware are working.
Enable Quiet Hours for times when nobody is near SugarPixel Mini/Classic to snooze it. Alerts that keep running unsnoozed wear out the vibration puck and bed shaker motors, and Quiet Hours are required to keep their warranty coverage. The app reminds you the first time you turn on vibration or pair a Wireless Alert Adapter. See Quiet Hours.
Turns on audio and vibration automatically and escalates each minute until snoozed: (1) vibration only → (2) vibration + low audio → (3) vibration + medium audio → (4) vibration + high audio.
  • Classic The first minute uses the vibration puck and/or Sidekick.
  • Mini The first minute uses the Wireless Alert Adapter.
While Ascending alerts is on, the Audio and vibration switches can’t be changed. Turn it off to set audio and vibration separately.
The vibration puck Classic must be plugged in, or the Wireless Alert Adapter Mini must be paired, when using Ascending Alerts, or you will miss the first vibration-only minute.
Turn on Audio, then choose the Audio type and Volume.Repeated identical alerts can be tuned out over time, especially during sleep. Random (recommended) uses randomly generated tones each time; Standard uses a consistent sound.Volume (Low, Medium or High) is set in the app only — SugarPixel Mini/Classic has no physical volume control. Use Test alert to compare levels.

Vibration Puck / Sidekick Classic

Plug the puck into the back of SugarPixel Classic and turn on Vibration / Sidekick. Ideal for deaf or hard-of-hearing users, heavy sleepers, or any situation where audio isn’t appropriate. If you have a Sidekick, tap the Sidekick user manual chip or see the Sidekick setup guide.

Wireless Alert Adapter / Bed Shaker Mini

The Wireless Alert Adapter is a Bluetooth accessory that delivers physical alerts — such as bed shaking — when an alert fires. Unboxing and plugging in the adapter is covered in Setup My Wireless Alert Adapter.
Place your SugarPixel Mini and Wireless Alert Adapter in their intended locations before pairing to ensure sufficient Bluetooth signal.
To pair, open Alert Types and find the Wireless Alert Adapter card. SugarPixel Mini looks for nearby adapters and lists each one with a Pair button. Tap Pair, then enter the 6-digit code printed on the bottom of the Wireless Alert Adapter (not the bed shaker) and tap Pair again. If the adapter was paired to another SugarPixel, tap Use This SugarPixel. When it’s paired, the card shows Paired · Connected.
Confirm your adapter is listed as SugarPixelAlert-XXXX. If no adapters are found, make sure it’s powered on and near SugarPixel Mini, then tap Scan again.
Use Test alert at the bottom of Alert Types to confirm your adapter is working.

Additional Wireless Alert Adapter Information

The light on the Wireless Alert Adapter glows blue when connected, green when powered on but not connected, green when an alert is active, and orange when Guardian Mode is active. To reset the adapter for use with a different device, tap Unpair adapter.Guardian Mode — When enabled, if the Wireless Alert Adapter loses its connection to SugarPixel Mini for more than 30 minutes, the bed shaker will vibrate on its own every 30 minutes for up to 3 hours. This is designed to alert you if the connection is lost unexpectedly. Guardian Mode can only be changed while the adapter is connected.
If you prefer vibration-only alerts, Ascending Alerts are strongly recommended — audio will still play if the puck or adapter stops working. To maintain warranty coverage, Quiet Hours must be enabled to prevent extended vibration when alerts aren’t being snoozed.
When Visual is on, the display flashes between your normal screen and an inverted color-coded view of your glucose value.
Auto‑snooze stops every alert on its own after the time you set (5–30 minutes) if nobody snoozes it — useful if you’re away from SugarPixel Mini/Classic or forgot to turn alerts off.
