Start here: make sure the SugarPixel app is up to date in the App Store or Play Store, and that your SugarPixel Mini/Classic has the latest firmware installed. See Firmware Update.

Previously connected, but no longer shows

Most commonly, Disconnect wasn’t tapped after the last session. The app isn’t designed to stay connected.
  1. Unplug SugarPixel Mini/Classic
  2. Plug it back in to reboot
  3. Open the app and reconnect
Going forward, always tap Disconnect when you finish editing settings.

Purchased before September 2022

App-compatible firmware was released in September 2022. If your SugarPixel Classic hasn’t been updated since then, update it first. To check: restart SugarPixel Classic. If the display shows “CONFIG” while booting, it’s running outdated software. Follow the SD card update instructions.

Display shows “Run Hardware Test”

A step was skipped during initial setup. Follow all setup instructions to resolve.

App shows “Stopped”

Bluetooth is off on your phone, the app is missing permissions, or both. Open Settings → Bluetooth and confirm it’s on, then check that all permissions for the SugarPixel app are allowed.
